CSR Policy

Context and Vision:

As a responsible global corporate citizen, Synoptek works to make a difference among local communities through a dedicated approach to community development through supplementing education, employment enhancing vocational skills, environmental sustainability, supporting the underprivileged, and awareness projects.

Focus Areas:

In accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act, 2013, Synoptek CSR activities will focus on the following activities either directly or with partners:

  • Supplementing Education: Promoting end-to-end access to education and related facilities among children through extra-curricular activities, supplementary education, monetary contribution to academic institutions for improving infrastructure and delivery of education with the objective of empowering the next generation to achieve their full potential.
  • Employment Enhancing Vocational Skills: Adding additional skills to the youth in terms of communication, soft skills, public speaking, and technology upgrade in order to make them better employable through in-house short-term/long-term courses and guest lectures at academic institutions.
  • Environmental Sustainability: Ensuring environmental sustainability through maintaining the quality of soil, air and water with short/long term programs.
  • Supporting the Underprivileged: Strengthening the living conditions of the underprivileged through medical camps, sanitation, distribution of health kits and food packets, and cleanliness drives.
  • Awareness Projects: Traffic, health, cleanliness awareness programs to educate the society at large.

Governance:

The CSR Program will be governed by a two-tier structure to oversee the CSR programs:

  1. A CSR committee of the Board of Directors will play the role of the apex review body. The objective and goals of the CSR committee will be defined by the Board of Directors keeping in mind the regulatory requirements and the organizations philosophy.
  2. A CSR Steering committee comprising of senior executives appointed by the CSR committee to oversee programs, partner and beneficiary identification, funding, program implementation. The steering committee shall submit half-yearly reports with a status and impact of approved programs.

The Synoptek India CSR Committee consists of the following directors:

The Synoptek India CSR Steering Committee will consist of the following members:

  1. Darshan Kamdar
  2. Nandita Nityanandam
  3. Ankita Vasavada

Responsibilities of the Committee:

The responsibilities of Synoptek’s CSR Committee and CSR Steering Committee include:

  1. Formulating and recommending to the Board of Directors the CSR Policy and indicating activities to be undertaken
  2. Recommending the expenditure budget for annual CSR programs
  3. Monitoring the CSR programs over the course of the year

Funding, Selection, Monitoring:

The CSR Committee will receive requests for funding of programs and initiatives on a continuous basis. Members of the CSR Committee or CSR Steering Committee will evaluate, approve and monitor the initiatives based on a detailed quantitative and qualitative impact analysis similar to business cases.

Effective Date:

The Synoptek CSR Policy is effective from 1st June 2018.

CSR project approved by the board

At Synoptek we are running the following CSR Projects:

1. Nutritional Program: Synoptek provides nutritional food (fruits, dry fruits, milk) to the Primary Teachers College students every day.

2. Employability skill development program: A teacher is hired, and students are taught specialized courses apart from their regular courses. This helps them to get a better job opportunity in the market and in turn support their family.

3. Women empowerment/upliftment: We provide computer lab facilities, external computer education, and nutritional programs for women empowerment and upliftment.
