The wellness company sells a range of advanced skincare products and offers a variety of beauty-related services online through a Magento-based website. However, to enhance the end-user experience, the client wanted to improve the basic look and feel as well as the performance of its website.
The client also wanted to enable personal skincare product recommendations by providing a highly customized and personal module for online customers. The questionnaire would allow customers to select certain options across skin type, skincare concerns, eye concerns, ingredients to avoid, age group, and makeup routine and get automatic product recommendations based on their selection.
The skincare company approached Synoptek to redesign its existing Magento website as well as to build the recommendations feature.
Synoptek helped the client improve its Magento site performance. In addition, we also implemented a recommendations feature using certain rules that enabled the company’s online customers to get access to a pre-defined skincare questionnaire developed by a highly qualified group of aestheticians.
Responses to these questions, when submitted by the customer, are sent to a backend Java/Oracle Recommendation Engine that uses various complex bump rules and custom logic to return relevant product recommendations to the customer.
The products are neatly arranged in a regime format, which is bifurcated into Quick & Simple, Targeted, and Full Regimens format. The feature enables customers to also see all the details as per the options selected on the Magento site.
Once the questionnaire is submitted, customers get a list of recommended products along with reasons why the product has been displayed – based on their specific skin type and concerns. Customers can buy the desired product on the Magento site and make payment through an easy checkout process.
